Unlockable Officers

All characters may be unlocked on any difficulty (Easy is the easiest to manage) but the mode must be in story mode (not free mode). If you want to use a character from another story, simply clear the story modes and you can use any unlocked officer in the cleared story (making free mode useless!). Note that on 2 player co-op, both players can quickly over-stack events and cause a foul-up on the sequencing. The best method is to have 1P do all the events while 2P addresses other issues (like keeping allies or the main camp alive).

Hint: Impressing LuBu & Unlocking Stage X8

While the other X-stages are unlocked by completing story stages and other X-stages, stage X8 may only be unlocked by meeting certain conditions in stage 7. Although you can meet the following conditions with 2 players, each player must meet the require by themselves for the condition to be satisfied.

• SW Story 7 - Get 1000 KOs.
• Shu Story 7 - All allied officers and you must flee the castle within 2'00"
• Wei Story 7 - Defeat Da Ji within 1'00" of her defection
• Wu Story 7 - Have Sun Jian's army join yours within 3'00" of the start of the battle

Once the Stage X8s are cleared, simply march staright up to LuBu and defeat him in all four X8 stages to unlock him.

Hint: Impressing Honda

Impressing Honda means doing a variety of tasks on each Stage X7 that are fairly obvious, but these are known to work:

• SW Story X7 - Escort the messengers to the escape point, defeat LuBu, wait for reinforcements, do not allow your blue units to be defeated (any yellow ones are okay, unless it is Honda), and then defeat Masamune Date
• Shu Story X7 - All peasant units must survive to the escape point, defeat LuBu and ambush parties, Honda must survive
• Wei Story X7 - Rescue both Honda (yellow) units and do not allow them to be defeated, defeat LuBu
• Wu Story X7 - defeat the weak Honda at the altar, defeat the 2nd powered-up Honda appears in the northeast within 2'00" after his appearance, defeat Date and Dong Zhuo

To get the secret message, complete Spartan mode.

Secret Message 2:
To unlock the second secret message, complete the God of War Challenges. Infinite Ammunition:

Move Faster:
Press Right Analog-stick Forward to roll forward, then press R1 to execute a Hermes Rush shoulder charge before the roll ends. Repeat this to move faster.

Unlock Additional Costumes
When you have beaten God of War's Challenge of the Gods five new costumes will be unlocked for Kratos. Not only do they look different, Kratos actually has different attributes for his damage power and defense power and will also collect different levels of health, magic and red experience orbs.

Need to zoom in more with your Sniper Rifle? All you have to do is press R3 to zoom in x2 and press 'Up' on the D-pad as if you're changing the firing method and if you've done it correctly you'll now be able to scope in X5.
